Seven of the region's head football coaches spoke to fans and media Saturday about the importance of weight training.
Practice can officially start for teams on August 1st. With the beginning of the season right around the corner, coaches voiced their urgency in making sure players are in peak physical condition.
"We're trying to find ways to get them faster, tougher, bigger," said Fitzgerald head coach Jason Strickland. "Hopefully, they'll find some green bean soup that's going to get them bigger."
Coffee County received an upgrade to their weight room last season and following trips to some SEC schools this off season, head coach Bobby Pruitt is impressed by his.
"I've been to Clemson this offseason," Pruitt said. "I've been to Auburn, Vanderbilt, our weight room is as nice as any of those."
