The City of
Ashburn has an attraction that brings visitors from all over Southwest Georgia.
The splash pad
opened in April. Since Ashburn doesn't have a pool, the mayor thought a splash
pad would be a great idea to bring some fun to the city.
The 2,700 square
foot splash pad can hold 109 kids. He says the pad sees tons of families
"I talk with just about everybody that comes in. We've had people
from Poulan, Cordele, and Tifton. So yeah, word gets out people come from miles
around," said Mayor Jim Hedges.
"I was driving
through Ashburn the other day and I saw it. I came over here to see it cause I
never seen it before. I told him about it and I said let's go Sunday," said
It's free to use
the splash pad and it's open between the hours of 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., 7 days
