Faith closet gives free haircuts, clothes

A congregation is stepping up to do more for their community.

First Monumental Faith Ministries in Albany opened their faith closet for the first time Saturday.

They gave out clothes and shoes to adults and children in need. They also gave gift bags to everyone who came through their community center. Free haircuts were available and safe link cells phone were given to those who qualify. Members say they want to do more to provide for those in need.

"We believe this are trying times and we believe the church should take more active role in helping the community," said Jennifer Watts.

Faith Monumental serviced more than 200 people Saturday. The church will open their faith closet again on September 14.
