ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany outreach mission celebrated 16 years of service to the community Saturday afternoon.

Faith Community Outreach Center held a banquet fundraiser to celebrate those who went through the program. Faith Community Outreach provides a place for women and children to stay, hygiene kits and life skills training. The non-profit organization needs ongoing help throughout the year. The banquet fundraiser was a way to show people what they offer.

"It provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to be aware of the homeless population and the poverty that we have," said Cindreka Marshall.

"We provide assistance in many ways to helping them transition from homelessness into some type of shelter situation," said Cassandra Richardson.

All proceeds from Saturday's banquet will go towards the outreach programs.
