ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Folks in South Albany woke up with a hot cup of coffee from their neighborhood law enforcers Friday morning.

The Albany Police department hosted the second 'Coffee with a Cop' event at the McDonald's on South Slappey Blvd as the sun came up.

The officers invited everyone to talk over a free 'cup of Joe' about any concerns, or questions community members may have. Packets were also handed out to inform the public about crime prevention and safety.

"The goal is to hopefully create some great partnerships with our citizens," said Phyllis Banks, APD Public Relations Media Manager. "So, they can have open conversations with us, not only at McDonald's, but anywhere, once they've become comfortable with the officers."

The next chance to join in on Coffee with a Cop will be next Friday at the McDonald's on East Oglethorpe.
