ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

People who live on a quiet Northwest Albany street say they're shocked by an early morning drive by shooting.

A 31 year old man was shot as he got out of his car about 3:40 Tuesday morning.

Police say Nicholas Gillison was shot in the lower back outside his home at 127 Mossydale Lane.

Investigators say after Gillison arrived home, a car pulled up near his home and the shot was fired from that car.

Hospital officials would not release Gillison's condition.

We talked with neighbors today. None would go on camera, but all said they were surprised and concerned by the violence in their neighborhood.
