WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Two businesses and folks in Worth County came together to help a man battling a deadly lung disease.

People from the surrounding communities came to Lawn Performance Saturday afternoon to buy barbeque chicken plates to raise money for Eddie Etheridge.  He's in need of a lung transplant. The money raised will go towards medical expenses and his treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Etheridge says he was pleasantly surprised with the great turnout.  "They are just wishing me the best you know and hope things go my way," said Etheridge.

Lawn Performance and Grasshopper Mowers are raffling off a $7,000 lawn mower on August third to help raise more money.  You can still buy raffle tickets.  For more information call 229-496-9796.
