ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

It's almost time for students to head back to school and an Albany non-profit organization helped children in need.

Mission Change gave away free school supplies to kids in the neighborhood. This is the third year for the back to school drive and organizers say the turnout was great.

Volunteers and youngsters in the community helped give out backpacks full of goodies. Many of the children say it feels great to give back to others.

"It's good to help the community and the community will help you," said Emonyei Ward.

"We just going to pass them out and share to others that don't have none," said Sha' Diamond Solomon.

The backpacks were filled paper, writing tools and other school supplies. Mission change say more than 100 children came out to get backpacks. Kids in Lee County will also get some of the 550 backpacks as well.
