Book club talks race and relations in S. Georgia

Posted: Updated:
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Southwest Georgians came together on Thursday night to read and discuss a book focused on race and relations.

There was a huge turnout at Our Daily Bread in downtown Albany and the coordinator of the project says the event was put on so members of the community could come together and discuss issues involving race in Albany Georgia.

"It's important because we can't move beyond it until we acknowledge it, and start to talk about it. We have to hear each other’s opinions and views respectfully and have some dialogue of why we feel that way, until we do those things we can't move forward,” said Harriet Hollis the coordinator of the Southwest Georgia racial healing project.
