The race for City Commissioner Ward 3 heats up

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Individuals are beginning to throw their hats in the race for the City Commissioner Ward III seat

Cheryl Calhoun has recently announced that she is throwing her hat in the race to challenge incumbent Commissioner Chris Pike for his seat.

Cheryl says the reason she is running because the people from that district need someone that can speak up on their behalf.

“People need someone that can speak for them, sometimes you have to be that voice for people, there is a scripture in Proverbs 31:89, it says ‘speak up for those and always ensure justice’, so I just believe God puts people in places that will speak,” said Calhoun.

BJ Fletcher has also thrown her hat into the race

The election is scheduled for November 5th.
