Albany, Dougherty Co. look for new image in design bid

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany and Dougherty County's image is getting a branding and marketing makeover.

On Wednesday the Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission approved a proposal with Lattimer Communications.

The Atlanta based company will help design a campaign, focusing on improving the image of the city and county. Folks with the company will conduct research and engage the community to help the design campaign.

"Part of our challenge is convincing ourselves that, 'hey we are a great place,'" notes Economic Development President Ted Clem. "We do have many attractive things here that makes it a good location for a business, makes it a good place to live and raise a family."

The 52 week contract is for more than $150,000. EDC President Ted Clem says they hope to begin implementing the plan in January. The first phase of the campaign will be completed in June.
