ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Schools and Marine Corps Logistics Base officials will hold a "Back to School" information session to talk about the future of students that live on and off the base.

The scheduled meeting comes in the wake of recent controversy surrounding nearby Worth County Schools and what students they choose accept into their system.

The meeting will be held Thursday, July 18, on the base at 6 p.m.

According to a statement, the meeting will serve to discuss some of the details for the upcoming school year as well as provide parents with information pertinent to their child's educational development and success within the school system.

Those wishing to attend the event are asked to arrive at the main base gate on Fleming Road at 5:45 p.m.
