TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

The Georgia Peanut Commission is ready to race in Atlanta on Labor Day weekend.

The commission will be a primary sponsor for Unadilla's David Ragan at the Labor Day weekend NASCAR Sprint Cup series race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Don Koehler says this is the first time the Peanut Commission has been a primary sponsor for a NASCAR race.

Sponsoring a Sprint Cup car isn't peanuts but the exposure will help the crop with NASCAR fans known for their loyalty to companies who support racing.

"We are excited about the fact we are going to be back with a presence there. Atlanta Motor Speedway is the Georgia speedway. I think we gain a lot there with presence and folks remembering peanuts are good and good for you too said Don Koehler."

David Ragan got his second Sprint Cup win earlier this year at Talladega.

This year's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway is September 1st.
