BROOKS COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A Brooks County high school football player, killed in a tragic crash, was laid to rest Sunday.

The Tabernacle Church in Quitman was full of family members, friends and teammates of 18 year-old Johnie Parker.  They came to say their final good-byes late Sunday afternoon.

Family members say he was a free-spirited young man who loved to laugh and have fun. He was a junior and proudly played inside linebacker for the Trojans. Parker's teammates chanted to express their unity and pain.

Parker, Jicarre Watkins, and Shawn Waters all died at the crash scene near Brooks County high school on Tuesday morning, after their SUV slammed into a tree.  De'Vron Whitfield survived.

The funeral for Jicarre Watkins will be held Saturday, July 20th at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
