Book fair helps Thronateeska Heritage Center

The Thronateeska Heritage Center got a boost from book lovers this weekend.

A book fair was held at Books-A-Million in Albany Saturday to help raise money for Thronateeska.  From 12pm to 4pm, shoppers could present a voucher at checkout to have part of their purchase price donated to the center.

"That just helps to support our education programming, to make it possible to offer field trips, to make it possible so that it's free for the general public to come to all the museums. And to help keep the price of the planetarium down," said Allison Young the program coordinator.

Organizers say promoting books and the education offered at the Thronateeska Heritage Center go hand in hand.
