Douglas Police continue to look for the killer of a 21-year old man Thursday night.
Police and EMS found 21-year old Daquavious Tyree Dovonta Reed dead inside a home at 916 East Ward Street just before 8:00 p.m..
In a statement Friday afternoon, Douglas Police say a gunshot is believed to be the cause of death.
There are no suspects in custody at this time but police say they are following several leads.
"We haven't at this time recovered the weapon, but we're following up on several leads, going in several different directions and that's pretty much where we are at this time," said Robert Sprinkle, Sergeant for Douglas Police Criminal Investigations.
Reed's family was gathered outside the home he was killed at in shock, but say they have no idea who could have done this.
Now, They're asking for your help in solving his untimely death.
"Try to find out who did it and I wish somebody would come forth and say who did it," said Gladys Williams, Reed's Grandmother. "He was a good kid. He wasn't a bad kid."
We were told an autopsy is expected to be scheduled later this morning for further investigation.
Douglas Police, Coffee County Sheriff's office and GBI have all helped with the investigation.
