PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

A third person has been arrested in connection with a home break-in and burglary after evacuations were given for the Yarnell Hill Fire, investigators said.

Thomas Adams, 22, was arrested Friday during a traffic stop in Prescott. Detectives said they were acting on an anonymous tip that Adams stolen firearms from the victim's home.

Authorities completed a search warrant for his home and recovered the pistol along with additional stolen property.

Adams was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges of theft and control of stolen property and trafficking in stolen property, among other charges.

On July 11, Robert Frost, 22, and Dakota Slone, 27, were booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges of burglary and theft.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said the suspects stole firearms, knives, coins and jewelry. Some of those items were later pawned.

The victim told deputies he had seen two suspicious men in their 20s near his home when the evacuation was just getting underway.

He provided a detailed description of both men, noting that one was carrying a brownish-colored backpack.

A deputy recalled seeing the suspicious men while evacuating a neighborhood on Crest Way. The deputy said the pair claimed they were assisting with the evacuation. One of the men indicated he was trying to borrow a vehicle so he and his friend could drive to Peeples Valley, YCSO said.

Slone and Frost were eventually tracked down to a motel.

On Thursday, deputies searched the room and found a telescope stolen from the Yarnell home. Slone was arrested. A short time later, Frost arrived and was taken into custody.

Slone told detectives some of the stolen coins were buried in the woods in Prescott. Slone was taken to the area and several stolen items, including jewelry and coins, were recovered.

Detectives said they are determining if the suspects are involved in any other thefts.
