Bainbridge repurposes old wood for new courtroom

Posted: Updated:
BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

The newly renovated city council and city courtroom chambers of Bainbridge's new city hall put old wood to a new use and purpose.

The $4 million renovation began in March 2012. City officials say the construction was necessary because the building was out of date, and too small for the modern needs of the city.

The city purchased several store fronts next to city hall for the expansion. Reclaimed pine wood was used in the construction of the city council chambers.

Business will resume in the new Bainbridge City Hall on Monday.
