ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

4-H campers from around South Georgia are getting a lesson on water conservation at the Flint RiverQuarium.

The 4-H2O Camp is a three day camp for campers to receive lessons from water conservationists about water irrigation and how to protect the eco-system. Over 100 campers went to the Stripling Irrigation Research Center in Camilla yesterday and received a tour of the Flint RiverQuarium today. Instructors say this camp is a great way for campers to understand how water plays a role in our everyday lives.

"It's good for them to understand about the water in our area and what goes on and how it all connects together and how we are all affected by the water quality and the water quantity as well," said Flint RiverQuarium Education Manager Melissa Martin. "It's a very important part of South Georgia."

This is the fifth year the Flint RiverQuarium has hosted the 4-H2O camp. 4-Hers pay a nominal fee to participate in the camp. The rest of the cost is covered by the UGA Arch Foundation started by the Stripling Family in Camilla, Ga.
