ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital honored it's 25-year CEO Joel Wernick for reaching that milestone Wednesday.

He was honored at the hospital's board meeting.

Wernick says the affordable care act is causing big changes in the industry, and the hospital must evolve to keep up.

"Probably the biggest challenge we know is that we cannot continue to run phoebe operations the way we have in the past and if we choose to live in the past we won't be successful," said Wernick.

The hospital and the Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard presented Wernick with a proclamation.
