Thomasville PD: meth likely reason for Ammonia theft

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomasville Police say burglars were after Anhydrous Ammonia when they broke into a business Tuesday night.

Tyler Buford Brown, 25, Carl Deloach, 25, and Jared Hickey, 21 have been charged with Burglary.

Officers were called to Prestige Ice packing company on Glenwood Drive just after midnight.

According to a report, an employee was working late and saw a man walk into the packing room, then quickly leave. The employee followed the man, who then ran off with another person away from the business into woods nearby.

A short time later, three men were stopped in a car by police in a traffic stop for seat belt violation near Walmart.

Officers suspected these men were involved with the burglary and brought the employee who was working that night to where they were stopped.

The Prestige Ice employee was able to identify one of the men as seen at the business. All three were placed under arrest and charged immediately.

Authorities say 5 gallons of Anhydrous Ammonia worth $1,500 were taken from the business. The Ammonia was not recovered.

A report says officials believe the Ammonia was stolen in the process of making methamphetamine

A bond amount for those charged was not immediately available.
