Albany Symphony awarded grant money

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Symphony Orchestra is getting financial help to continue their work.

One $9,000 grant will help expand the link-up concert they offer to 3rd through 5th graders.      They also got a 25-thousand dollar grant to help with daily operations.

"The operating support is especially welcome because ticket sales, that's just a small part of our budget and does not cover the complete cost of the concerts and being able to expand link up, this gives us the opportunity to do that," said Lark Ledbetter, Executive Director, Albany Symphony Orchestra.

The grants come from the Georgia Council of the Arts, and the National Endowments for the Arts. The grants will be applied to next fiscal year's budget.
