School board members voted
to keep the system's millage rate the same, meaning no tax hike for property
member James Bush says school system leaders are working hard to find
economically sound ways to educate children well while keeping taxes low.
"You can tax people
to death, and that's not the aim. The aim is to do more with less and try to
get our children educated and that's the mission," said James Bush,
Dougherty County School Board member.
This is the sixth year in a row that the
millage rate has remained at 18.445 mils.
