Americus Travelers confident for USSSA World Series

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

The Americus Travelers are on the road again.

This time, it's to McDonough, GA for the USSSA World Series.

The 13U baseball team will be competing against 17 of the best youth squads from around the country this week, hoping to win a World Series title.

The Travelers know the competition they'll be up against, but they're confident in their ability.

"We're going to be playing some pretty good teams, probably better than we've seen yet," says P/SS Clint Sellars. "But I know everyone, and we can hang with them. We can play."

Travelers head coach Tim Estes has won a USSSA World Series before, and he knows what it will take this year.

He feels his team is as ready as any heading into the tournament.

"We're prepared mentally and physically. And these guys can play. They wouldn't be here if they couldn't play," says head coach Tim Estes. "So we feel confident and we want to carry that confidence in without it being cockiness."

The Travelers' first game is Wednesday in McDonough.
