Suspect pleads guilty in robbery death

An 18-year old Albany man, initially charged with murdering an East Albany convenience store clerk two and a half years ago, pleads guilty to lesser charges.

Monday afternoon Anthony Hill pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, and armed robbery.

He agreed to testify in the trial of his accused accomplice, 19-year old Santarious Nelson.

Prosecutors say they rushed into the Miscelanea Guate-Mex store on Radium Springs Road December 17, 2010 and robbed the clerk 19-year old Sentos Vicente.

During his plea hearing Hill said Nelson shot Vicente when the victim reached for Nelson's gun.

Nelson's murder trial is scheduled to start August 5th.

Hill will be sentenced following that trial.
