Police initially responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. on S. 8th Street.

Officials say Jamie Latreronce Gaines, 38, years of age, was found dead in the vehicle.

A report says the car crashed into a mailbox, fence, and a parked vehicle.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation out of Douglas was also called to investigate. The GBI Crime Lab will conduct an autopsy.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
