ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

While it's been a soggy Fourth of July for many, troopers in Albany say the wet weather hasn't caused too problems on the roadways.

Fourth of July is a normally a busy time on the roads across the country and South Georgia. Albany Georgia State Patrol Post 40 only had to report to the scene of three crashes since July 3rd.

The G-S-P corporal supervisor is pleased that the numbers are low and that motorists are paying attention on the roads.  But the holiday weekend is just getting started.

"Like I said, this is only for post 40, it's a good thing, that means that people are paying attention to the weather and attempt to drive safe," said Andrew McKenzie, Georgia State Patrol Post 40, corporal supervisor

So far one D-U-I arrest has been made by G-S-P, as well as 200 vehicle stops.
