No bond set in vehicular homicide case

ASU student Amber Marie Brown, charged with vehicular homicide following fatal crash Wednesday, made her first court appearance this morning, and she remains in the Dougherty County jail.

No bond was set for her charges of Vehicular Homicide. Once Brown has an attorney, she can apply to superior court to set a bond.

A $3,300 bond was set for charges of Reckless Driving, failure to maintain lane, Expired License, DUI refusal, DUI Less Safe, and a seatbelt violation.

Albany Police say Brown, 23, and passenger 28 year old Damian Johnson, were traveling west on the Liberty Bypass in a Chevy Impala just south of the Clark Avenue ramp, when the car hit the back of a street sweeper parked in the emergency lane.

She then lost control of the vehicle, driving across the median and hit a guard rail. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
