Wild Adventures' fireworks to go off rain or shine

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Wild Adventures officials say their plan to host the biggest Fourth of July fireworks show in south Georgia and north Florida will go on rain or shine.

The fireworks will go off around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Park gusts can line up their chairs around the lake to watch the show. All military will get into the park free Thursday through Sunday.

On Thursday park goers can also participate in Fourth of July activities such as relay races, and a hot dog and watermelon eating contest.

"It's about 15 to 20 minutes of spectacular fireworks that are preformed to music. So it's a tradition and a favorite for those in the community," said Micha Hogan, Wild Adventures Spokeswoman.

The summer Splash Island water park will stay open until 10:00 p.m. every Friday starting this week.
