VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia food bank received a big donation from Land O'Lakes.

A semi-truck full of frozen mac-and-cheese stopped at the Second Harvest Food Bank of South Georgia in Valdosta Monday. The 40,000 pound delivery of mac-and-cheese will help provide nearly 30,000 meals to children, families, and seniors in need in the south Georgia community.

"We're a community oriented company. We certainly want to support our communities both locally and internationally. We're an international company, and it's important for us to know that the people are being fed," said Mike Batten, Windfield Solutions Plant Manager.

In 2010 Land O'Lakes started the First Run donation program to help food banks alleviate hunger. Monday was the company's 63rd donation.
