Dozens of law officers are out right now making sure the roads in Colquitt County are safe.

The Southwest Traffic Enforcement Network is conducting road blocks in the county tonight.      Police and deputies from throughout the region are working together to check for impaired drivers, seat belt violators, and to catch people with outstanding warrants.

Officers say this is especially important heading into the July 4th holiday.

"Be safe, drive with your seatbelt on, obey the speed limits, no drinking and driving the holiday, it's lots of people on the road this time of the year, this is part of the summer 100 day click it or ticket, just trying to make sure everyone's safe," said Ramsey Simmons, Decatur County Sheriff's Office.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving members are out with the officers tonight to show support and offer logistical help.
