NFL player visits young fans in Tifton

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Eager fans in Tifton got autographs from a professional football player Friday afternoon.

Larry Dean, a Minnesota Vikings football player and Tifton native, signed autographs at The Medicine Man's Corner drug store on Main Street for about an hour.

Dean said the event aims to help raise awareness of the second annual "Back To School" rally, which takes place this weekend at the Mott Litman Gymnasium.

He said the rally will focus on encouraging kids to stay active, and teaching the fundamentals of football.

The weekend concludes with a prize raffle and free school supplies give away on Sunday.

Dean signed autographs for free at the drug store, but accepted donations for the back to school rally. He said he will sign more autographs for those who missed him Friday during weekend events.
