Two drug dealers sentenced to federal prison

MACON, GA (WALB) -

Two drug dealers who authorities say were distributing illegal drugs in the Albany area have been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to charges.

Christopher J. Daniels, 30, of Colquitt has been sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison, and in a separate case, Johnnie Kenon, 39, of Quincy, FL has been sentenced to 24 years and 6 months in prison.

U.S. District Judge W. Louis Sands sentenced Daniels after a traffic stop by authorities revealed an amount of cocaine and a handgun. According to a report, Daniels admitted the drugs and gun belonged to him.

Judge Sands also sentenced Kenon after wiretaps by authorities revealed that he arranged illegal drug transactions by phone with another dealer, who was his supplier in the Donalsonville area, for cocaine purchases.

A report shows that agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency intercepted calls between Kenon and his dealer, where Kenon asked for drugs to sell to customers.

Officials also found a gun during a search of Kenon's residence.

Kenon's prison sentence offers no opportunity for parole.
