Sheriff Prine sent out this news release-

On Tuesday evening around 9:00 investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle on Myrtle Street in Valdosta. The driver, 23 years old Michael Green Jr., exited the vehicle and ran and while doing so was dropping small packages of marijuana.

Michael Green was soon located and arrested. Two other passengers in the vehicle also fled and were not located.

The recovered marijuana weighed approximately 13 grams and has a street value of approximately $400.00. Michael Green was transported to the Lowndes County Jail and has been charged with Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute Within 1,000 Feet of a Housing Project, Obstruction of an Officer, and various traffic offenses.

Michael Green will appear for an arraignment hearing Wednesday where a bond will be considered.
