Florida teens help make Albany beautiful

Albany's art park is getting a makeover thanks to dozens of teenagers from Florida.

More than 60 young people from Beach United Methodist Church in Jacksonville are in Albany for the week volunteering with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful.

One of their missions is to paint over all of the graffiti in the art park on Pine Avenue to give artists a fresh canvas.

"I think everybody was pretty excited because we've never done this before. Usually we're trimming trees by the side of the road so this is kind of a different break," said Brian Plummer, a volunteer.

This is the group's fifth trip to Albany.  Later this week, they'll do yard work for senior citizens and work at Second Harvest food bank.
