ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Monday afternoon, a thunderstorm dumped a torrential rain on Albany, and the nearby areas.

We had reports of flooding of the  customary low-lying areas, where he water could not run off quick enough.

Thunder rolled, and rain could be heard on the roof of WALB's studio, as our live newscast was broadcast.

A power line was reported down on Baker Avenue, and a WALB viewer said that a tree and a powerline went down on his truck at Duitman and Kersey in East Albany.

We have an unconfirmed report of three inches of rain falling south of Albany, as well as some hail in Gordy, South of Sylvester.

Some residents lost power, and the lights flickered in the WALB newsroom, but power never went out.
