UPDATE: Two killed in crash

BROOKS CO., GA (WALB) -

Update:

New details in the Brooks County crash that left two people dead.

It happened around 5:30pm Friday.  Georgia State Patrol troopers say 77 year-old Phyllis Herndon was driving a 2009 Chrysler 300 east on Georgia Highway 122, she stopped at the intersection of Highway 133, then drove into the path of a semi truck, which was headed south.

The semi plowed into the Chrysler in the drivers side door. Herndon was pronounced dead on the scene. Her husband, 81 year-old George Herndon died on the way to the hospital.

Monty Hack, the driver of semi was no injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a crash that killed two people Friday night in Brooks County.

We don't know a lot. We do know two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Highways 133 and 122 about 5:30, killing two people.

We're working to get more details.
