ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Dougherty County School System issued a statement Friday morning saying that the team of auditors hired to assess the operations of the DCSS Police Department has completed its work here in Albany.

They are now starting the process of putting their findings on paper, which is expected to be completed in about a month.

Here is the statement sent by the DCSS-

The team of credentialed investigators hired by the Board of Education to make an assessment of the operations of the Dougherty County Police Department reported, Friday, that they will assimilate collected information, and identify issues requiring follow up action, and  prepare a full report to the superintendent and board when the assessment is concluded.

The final report is expected to be made in late July.

This week the team conducted more than thirty interviews with DCSS board members, system administrators, outside public safety officials and every sworn, full time DCSS police officer.

The team collected supporting documents and examined police department equipment and facilities.

Until the official report is completed, the superintendent and staff will make no comment about the progress of the work of the team.

Questions about the team may be directed to Rothwell Confidential Services, LLC in Warner Robins, Georgia, 478-662-8058.
