ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

We received a huge response about a dog we showed Wednesday night that was nearly starved to death.

Lots of people called us and the Humane Society wanting to adopt Miss Magnolia, a one year old lab mix that is still too weak to stand.

Humane Society officials say she will need weeks of care before she's ready for adoption, but they say they have more than 100 other dogs available now.

They may not have been treated as badly as Miss Magnolia but who deserve a second chance at a happy life.

They encourage folks who expressed an interest in adopting Miss Magnolia to drop by the shelter and consider taking another dog home.

Call the Albany Humane Society at 888-PETS.
