MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Health students have a new place to study in Moultrie.

This afternoon, Moultrie Technical College cut the ribbon on its 46,000 square-foot Health Science Building.

The new building also has a simulation lab where students learn real life practices in a medical setting.

The lab was named in honor of Colquitt Regional Medical Center for their support of the college's Allied Health program.

"This really gives us the opportunity to put in place the things we need to prepare students for today's medical centers that they're going in to. This one does that. Of course the hospitals and medical centers helped us design it to, so we knew we were meeting their needs," said President Tina Anderson.

State lawmakers Senator Dean Burke and Representative Sam Watson were among the dignitaries at the event.
