Babysitter makes first appearance

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Demetria Porter, charged with causing the death of Ja' Kavion Davis, appeared before a judge at the Dougherty County jail this morning to hear the charges against her.

She is charged with cruelty to a child in the firs degree, and murder in the first degree.

Six month old Ja'Kobian was found dead inside an apartment on Marie Road Sunday morning.  An autopsy indicates homicide by blunt force trauma. 

She has not had a bond hearing yet.

    The passenger of a car that caught on fire Friday morning is OK. A woman said she was driving to work on GA Highway 300 when she took the Slappey Boulevard South exit.
