This afternoon Porter relative's said she was baby-sitting four children in her apartment Sunday morning, when Six month old Ja'Kobian was found dead inside an apartment on Marie Road Sunday morning.
We were talking with 33 year old Demetria Porter when Dougherty County Child Death Team Investigators from the District Attorney's Office and Albany Police arrived. At the direction of Investigators Porter went inside and brought out the child seat that Ja ' Kobian Davis was in when he was found dead.
Porter smiled and waved to us as she left with investigators.
Her aunt, Minnie Fowler, told us Porter was baby sitting four children Sunday. Fowler was one of the first people called that morning.
"Demetria got those children over there, and the baby dead," Fowler said.
Investigators tell us the child's parents are Kayla Burns and Jeremy Davis of Lee County. They left the baby with Porter and went out of town. The father discovered the baby was dead when he came to pick him up Sunday.
"That's all I know. The baby was dead. The momma and daddy was out of town and the daddy came to pick him up. And when he got here they said he put him on the ground," Fowler said.
Fowler said the father tried to revive the baby, but it was too late. With the autopsy results now showing the baby died from a blow to the head with a soft surface, child death team investigators charged Porter.
