CAIRO, GA (WALB) -

Teresa Edwards has done just about everything you can do in women's basketball.

The Cairo native and former Georgia Bulldog is being rewarded again for her illustrious career by being inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame this Wednesday.

"What can I say? It took me all around the world," Edwards said. "Now the FIBA Hall of Fame is calling me home to stay forever. Who in their right mind wouldn't be excited about this?"

It will be the eighth Hall of Fame Edwards is a member of.

The former Syrupmaid is the most decorated Olympic basketball player of all-time, winning four gold medals and one bronze from 1984 to 2000.

She also led the United States to two FIBA World Titles, in 1986 and 1990, and a bronze in 1994.

At UGA, Edwards led the Lady Dogs to two Final Four appearances, as well as a national runner-up finish in 1985. Georgia won three SEC Championships during Edwards' time in Athens.

Since she has retired from the game, Edwards has been inducted into seven other Halls of Fame, including the Grady County Sports Hall of Fame in 2009, the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, and the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2011.
