ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Things are buzzing around Chehaw where park managers have a taste for honey.

What was once an experiment has turned into a great partnership.

Chehaw teamed up with Southeastern beekeepers to enhance the pollination on site and to make honey. Experts say eating local honey can also help prevent allergies.

"When you eat local honey you are actually eating unspun untreated honey. So, you are getting the natural pollen in the honey and believe it or not, it does help people with allergies," said Kevin Hils Zoo Director at Chehaw Park.

If you would like to taste the honey and see if it helps you with your allergies. It is for sale at Chehaw.
