THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville pharmacist arrested earlier this week on charges of illegally selling painkillers has now been charged in a fatal accident.

37-year-old Jeffrey Cox was driving a pickup truck that hit a truck driven by James Williams on Cairo Road on May 29th.

Williams was killed in the wreck and two passengers in his truck were injured.

The Georgia State Patrol has charged Jeffrey Cox with felony first degree vehicular homicide, texting while driving, failure to maintain lane and driving on a suspended license.

Cox is the owner of Murphy Drugs that was raided by drug agents on Wednesday.

He was still in the Thomas County Jail on Friday afternoon.
