40-students will be going to Darton State College for free this fall thanks to Dean Scholarships. Parents, friends, and scholarship recipients gathered in the Student Center tonight to be recognized for their academic achievements.

In order to receive one of the scholarships from the Darton Foundation, students must have a 3.0 grade point average.   One student who overcame some challenges to earn the scholarship told us how grateful she is.

"Just getting this scholarship it just gave me one leg up to get where I want to go because so many things have been bringing me down in the past few years. I'm just so glad I've gotten this opportunity," said Brianna Lewis, Dean Scholar.

Students must maintain a 3.5 G-P-A at Darton to maintain the scholarship. If you are interested in applying for the Dean Scholarship visit http://www.darton.edu/admin/finaid/scholarships.php
