ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Chehaw takes another step toward building a splash park.

The city of Albany recently approved money to extend sewer lines to the park.

Those sewer improvements will allow Chehaw to move forward with plans for the splash park.

"Well one of the things we have been talking about for a long time is kind of a splash park or a spray park for people to come out here and you know get wet. Maybe a larger version of the one that is in downtown, you know the fountain that the kids like to run through so we would like to do something like that out here," said Doug Porter Executive Director of Chehaw Park.

Chehaw doesn't have enough money yet to start construction on the splash park.

If you'd like to donate to help move the process along more quickly contact Chehaw Park at 229-430-5275.
