Mortgage payment assistance available

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Information from the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission--

People who are unemployed or underemployed and having trouble making their mortgage payment, are invited to a meeting on HomeSafeGeorgia.

 It is scheduled for the Southwest Georgia Regional Commission 181 East Broad Street in Camilla, Wednesday, June 19, at 10:00 AM.

 The meeting is sponsored by the Regional Partners Network (RPN) and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). HomeSafeGeorgia will help you with payments if you are in default on your mortgage payment and can provide up to 18 months of temporary mortgage payment assistance.

There is no cost to apply and no closing costs. The types of assistance available will be discussed, along with the program and program requirements.

Eligible applicants for the program must be legal Georgia residents and property owners. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

There is no cost to attend the meeting, but registration is encouraged. Call or email  KDavis@swgrc.org or breddick@swgrc.org at (229) 522-3552 (extensions 1619 & 1618) for more information about the meeting and to reserve a seat.
