ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Professional women from South Georgia met up Wednesday to share their life challenges in the work force in hopes of being an inspiration to other professional women. Darton State College held the Professional Women's Forum.

Professional women in Albany and surrounding counties networked with each other and discussed their experiences and challenges in the work place. The Professional Women's Forum is designed to provide networking opportunities, education, strategy development and inspiration by personal example.

The guest speaker was Dougherty County State Court Judge Victoria Darrisaw who shared with the women her keys to success.

"The keys to success for women are generally no different than they would be for anyone else," said Judge Victoria Darrisaw. "I think for women some of the challenges have been in the past we try to out man a man. I think that's impossible for us to do, but we just be good at what we choose to do and that's the key thing."

Judge Darrisaw is the first woman to serve as State Court Judge for Dougherty County. The Professional Women's forum was hosted by Darton State College Department of Continuing Education. The event is held twice a year.
