Viewpoint: WALB on cable

I would like to take a moment to address our viewers who watch us through Mediacom Cable.

On June 30, there is a chance our signal will be removed from Mediacom Cable, due to a lack of an agreement between Raycom Media, who owns WALB, and Mediacom Cable corporate.

First of all, I'd like to apologize to these viewers for the inconvenience they may face of not being able to watch us. I'd also like to say thank you for your loyalty.

I've talked and emailed with many of you in the last few days and I've heard your passionate comments about possibly not being able to watch our news, newscasters, NBC, and ABC shows.

You have choices. WALB still has agreements with other carriers and is free over the air. If you would like to call Mediacom Cable and express your concern about possibly losing WALB from your channel lineup, you can call them at: 1-866-637-2225 or 1-800-239-8411.

You're paying to receive WALB's signals, ask them for a credit or rebate. If you would like to respond, please go to the "Viewpoint" section on our website, or send a letter to the station at 1709 Stuart Ave. Albany, Ga. 30707.
